jayna's makeup story
She has attracted adoring fans and clients by highlighting the light that shines through a woman's eyes, and it beams out her smile. I know this, because I worked on Team Jayna Marie as her booking assistant for 7 years and had the privilege of being the first responder to the countless gushing emails Jayna receives thanking her for bringing that extra je ne sais quoi to their event.
Jayna’s makeup journey is amazing, because she is amazing. She has always challenged limits, she has always dreamed bigger and she has always made her own dreams a reality. She has never compromised on the quality of her work or the standard of her business. She has never let a bride or her team member down, she is ride or die for everyone she loves, including the clients she works with everyday and it shows every-time she shows up. Jayna does everything in her power to make that day a perfect day for whoever is in her chair literally rolling the shirt off her back to fix a hairstyle (no joke, this happened!)
A few notable achievements she has undertaken since making a name for herself in the beauty industry: Jayna was invited back to Blanche Macdonald as an instructor and to rewrite the bridal hair and makeup curriculum. Her talent has earned her a place as a keynote speaker sharing her knowledge across Canada. She has broken through cultural barriers and established herself as a leading South Asian Makeup artist. Her talent has made her eligible to work with celebrities such as Lady Gaga and Serena Williams. She has worked with people most of us can only dream of, behind the scenes in venues like Ted Talks and the Junos. She has carved out such a name for herself in the beauty industry that she is booked years into future with brides now prioritizing having her as their artist as the single non-negotiable detail of their wedding in venues around the globe.
Jayna is artistic, personable, determined and passionate, but above all of that, she is beautiful, and she finds beauty in everything she does.

Every girl should be so lucky as to see themselves through Jayna’s eyes.
As Jayna’s original client (and sister) I can say from experience Jayna has always had an eye for pleasing aesthetic, styling childhood photoshoots to keep me in my best light and angles she has always been passionate about ensuring everyone around her saw their best selves. With her beside me I believed I was the next Kate Moss, but happier.
Growing up she was mesmerized by makeover episodes on talk shows and the dramatic improvement in confidence a woman could feel with a complimentary new look. Armed with her own dollar store makeup kit she would makeover girls in the schoolyard before being sent to the principal's office. Throughout school her artistry only became more well known and her passion didn’t subside, she was always the go to stylist for our friends and family.
As she continued into what she thought was her correct path in University with her studies of psychology to help and heal others she found she was just as easily able to connect with women deeply, in a tangible way through their hair and makeup.
She took a massive leap of faith against all advice from our family to study at Blanche Macdonald, a hair and makeup school in Vancouver, 4 hours away from home in Kelowna. She sold all of her belongings and set out on her own. Mom was sure her life's destiny was now doomed to working at a mall makeup counter.
Following her heart to Vancouver, she put everything she had into her makeup studies. Any spare moments she had, she would volunteer for opportunities she would find on Craigslist to gain experience. Finally free to pursue her true passion she graduated with a full portfolio of images and bridal bookings already scheduled in her calendar.
Jayna has an astonishing natural talent to capture the beauty that radiates from the inside. She has the ability to connect with people and shine a light on their true potential and the beauty they already possess.
